Why an iPhone remote cannot always turn a TV on
Turning a TV off and waking it from standby are different operations. A network remote needs the television to retain a reachable network or supported wake capability.

Before you begin
First wake the TV with its physical button or original remote. Confirm that normal app navigation works while the television is on.
Step by step
- Check the TV manual for network standby, mobile power-on or a similar model-specific setting.
- Enable the supported option if appropriate and reconnect the app.
- Put the TV into standby, wait briefly and try the app's power control once.
Check the result
If control returns only after physical wake-up, the issue is standby behavior rather than initial pairing. Firmware and energy-saving settings can affect it.
If it does not work
An unplugged TV cannot be powered on through Wi-Fi. The app does not turn the iPhone into an infrared transmitter; keep a physical remote for unsupported wake scenarios.
