About the Online Alarm Clock
This online alarm clock reminds you with a sound when it is time for a meeting, your medication or the end of the workday while you are working or studying on your computer, so you don’t have to reach for your phone. For short reminders, quick alarms such as “in 5 minutes” or “in 10 minutes” are set with one tap.
When an alarm goes off, a dialog appears in the middle of the screen where you can stop it or snooze for 5 minutes. The tab title flashes too, so you notice it even in another tab. Because it is a web page, this tab has to stay open for the alarm to ring.
How to use
- For a quick reminder, tap In 5 min, In 10 min, In 30 min or In 1 hour under Quick alarm.
- For a specific time, enter the Alarm time, choose repeat (once or every day), a label and a sound, then press Add alarm.
- The first time, press Test sound to check the volume. Browsers block sound until you have tapped the page once.
- When the alarm rings, press Stop alarm or Snooze 5 min. The Esc key also stops it.
- Use the switch in the list to turn an alarm off or on, and the × button to delete it.
Make sure your alarm rings
- Keep the tab open. Switching to another tab or minimizing the window is fine, but closing the tab or browser stops the alarm.
- Prevent sleep mode. If you close your laptop lid or the computer goes to sleep, the browser pauses too.
- Turn on sound first. After a reload, tap the page once so sound can play. If you see the yellow prompt at the top, tap it.
- On a phone, use the built-in clock app. Mobile browsers often mute pages once the screen turns off.
- A once alarm that passed while the page was closed is switched off when you reopen it; an every day alarm moves on to the same time the next day.
Handy uses
| Situation | Suggested setting |
|---|---|
| Reminder 5 minutes before a video call | 5 minutes before the call, once |
| Lunch break or end of the workday | Every day |
| Taking medication | Every day, medicine name as the label |
| Laundry or cooking done | Quick alarm in 30 min or 1 hour |
| Short break while studying | Quick alarm in 10 min |
To time a duration in minutes and seconds, a timer is more convenient; to alternate focus and breaks, use a Pomodoro timer.
FAQ
Does the alarm ring while I’m in another tab?
Yes. As long as the tab is open, it rings even while you use other tabs or programs. The first sound of the next alarm is scheduled in advance, so it plays on time even if the browser slows down background tabs.
Are my alarms lost when I reload or reopen the page?
No. The alarm list is saved in this browser and is still there when you come back. Alarms just can’t ring while the page is closed.
How many times can I snooze?
As often as you like. Each snooze rings again 5 minutes later. If you don’t stop it, an alarm rings for up to 10 minutes.
Can I use it on my phone?
You can, but it may stay silent when the screen turns off or the browser goes to the background. On a phone, we recommend also setting an alarm in the built-in clock app.
