How to add a discount and check the invoice total
Invoice Dash supports discounts when preparing documents. Always check the resulting subtotal and final amount, especially when the invoice also includes tax or several line items.

Before you begin
Start with the agreed discount and identify what it applies to. A discount on one service is different from a discount on the whole document, so do not rely on a similar-looking final number alone.
Step by step
- Open the invoice editor and enter the normal line items.
- Use the discount controls offered for the document.
- Review the recalculated amounts and any tax settings.
- Preview the PDF and check how the discount is presented to the client.
Check the result
Compare the result with a simple manual calculation using the same basis. Make sure the client can understand whether the displayed reduction is an amount or a percentage where applicable.
Limits and troubleshooting
Discount and tax treatment can depend on your business rules and location. The app calculates from the settings you choose; it does not determine which treatment you should apply or replace a review of the agreed terms.
