How to create a receipt from invoice payment records
Invoice Dash can generate a receipt from recorded payments. Review the payment history first so the receipt reflects received amounts rather than only the original invoice total.

Before you begin
Confirm which payment the client needs documented. A partial payment and a fully settled invoice are different situations, and the wording and amounts should make that distinction clear.
Step by step
- Open the invoice and review its recorded payments.
- Correct any mistaken date or amount before creating the receipt.
- Use the receipt action and preview the generated document.
- Share the receipt through your chosen channel and retain your own copy.
Check the result
Check the client name, invoice reference, received amount and remaining balance where shown. Compare the result with the payment evidence you used when updating the invoice.
Limits and troubleshooting
A generated receipt is based on your entries; it is not independent bank verification. If the payment has not arrived or has been reversed, update your records appropriately before representing the invoice as paid.
