How to add a signature to a scanned PDF on iPhone

Scanner lets you place a drawn signature on a document and share the resulting PDF. Check the recipient's signature requirements before using a drawn mark.

Before you begin
Finish cropping, rotating and ordering pages before signing. Make sure you have the final document, since changing the page layout afterwards can make a signature difficult to position correctly.
Step by step
- Open the document in Scanner and choose Sign.
- Draw a signature or choose a saved signature.
- Place and size it over the intended signature line without covering nearby text.
- Save the result, then export and reopen the PDF to check the placement.
Check the result
Look at the signed page at normal reading size and at higher zoom. Verify that the name, date and any other required fields are also complete before sharing the file with its recipient.
Limits and troubleshooting
A drawn signature is not a certificate-based digital signature or identity verification. If the recipient requires a particular signing service or certificate, ask them which process they accept rather than assuming an image of a signature is sufficient.
