How to scan both sides of an ID onto one page
Scanner 1.0 is awaiting App Store review. This guide previews the submitted version; a public download is not available yet.
Scanner's ID Card mode arranges the front and back of a card on one printable sheet. It is useful when a recipient requests both sides in a single file.
App used in this guide: Scanner ↗
Before you begin
Confirm which details the recipient needs and how they want to receive them. Use a plain background and avoid direct reflections on the card's plastic surface. Only create and share copies you are authorized to handle.
Step by step
- Choose Scan ID Card in Scanner.
- Capture the front with the whole card inside the frame.
- Turn the card over and capture the back.
- Review the composed page, save it and share the PDF through your chosen channel.
Check the result
Zoom into the document number and expiry date. Confirm that both sides belong to the same card and that no corner or line of small print was lost.
Limits and troubleshooting
If glare crosses the photo or numbers, move the light or slightly change the camera angle and capture again. Combining two sides does not verify an ID or replace the original card where an original is required.
