How to check when Currency's rates were last updated
The usefulness of a conversion depends partly on the age of its rate data. Currency's refresh settings show update information and available refresh-frequency choices.
App used in this guide: Currency ↗
Before you begin
A moving clock on your phone is not proof that the underlying rates just changed. Check the app's update information, particularly after using it offline or returning from a long period without opening it.
Step by step
- Open Currency Settings and select the rate-refresh settings.
- Read the last-update information shown there.
- Choose an available refresh frequency appropriate to your use.
- Return with a connection, allow a refresh and check the update information again.
Check the result
Faster refresh options may require an eligible subscription. A five-minute refresh setting is still periodic updating, rather than a guarantee that every market movement appears instantly.
Limits and troubleshooting
If the date remains old, check connectivity and try again later. Use a payment provider's current quote for an actual transaction; a recently refreshed reference rate still may not include that provider's spread or fees.
