Connect an iPhone TV remote using a TV's IP address
Manual connection is useful when a supported television is reachable but absent from discovery. It requires the TV's current local IP address and the correct brand.
App used in this guide: TV Remote ↗
Before you begin
Find the address in the TV's network settings, such as 192.168.1.25. Use the television's address, not your router's address or a public internet address.
Step by step
- Put the iPhone and TV on the same local network.
- In TV Remote's device list, open manual entry and select the brand.
- Enter the address, connect and complete the TV approval or PIN step.
Check the result
Test arrows and OK. If those work, the address and basic connection are usable; check advanced commands separately.
If it does not work
Addresses can change after a router restart. Read the current address from the TV before retrying. Manual entry cannot cross guest-network isolation or bypass an unsupported TV protocol.
