Allow Local Network access for an iPhone TV remote
Local Network permission lets the remote app discover and communicate with nearby TVs. Internet access and Bluetooth permission are separate settings.
App used in this guide: TV Remote ↗
Before you begin
Open the remote app and start a TV scan at least once. The permission entry may not appear until the app has requested access.
Step by step
- Open iPhone Settings, then Privacy & Security → Local Network.
- Enable access for TV Remote and return to the app.
- Keep the TV awake on the same network and repeat the device scan.
Check the result
Select the TV and complete its own pairing request. Granting iOS permission does not automatically authorize control on the television.
If it does not work
If the app is missing from the permission list, open its connection screen again. If a managed phone restricts changes, contact its administrator. Do not reset all network settings as a first step.
