How to manually blur a small area in a photo

Before you begin

Identify all instances of the information first. The same name or number may appear more than once, and a reflection or background screen can reveal a second copy.

Step by step

1. Open the image in Blurri's photo editor and choose manual drawing.
2. Select a brush size suited to the target area.
3. Apply the effect across the whole detail, including its edges.
4. Save the output and inspect it at high zoom.

Check the result

Read around the edited area to check whether the surrounding context still reveals the hidden information. A partial address or the final digits of a number may be more informative than they look at thumbnail size.

Limits and troubleshooting

If the characters remain recognizable, stronger blurring may still be inadequate for highly sensitive material. Do not treat a cosmetic blur as certified redaction; withhold the image or remove the sensitive content using an appropriate workflow.
