How to organize your Currency list for a trip

Before you begin

Identify the currencies actually used where you will pay. A country name, a retailer's display currency and the currency charged at checkout may not always be the same.

Step by step

1. Open Convert in Currency and add the currencies you need.
2. Use the list-editing controls to arrange frequently used rows.
3. Remove unnecessary rows from the display when they distract from the task.
4. Make a test conversion from each important source currency.

Check the result

Check the codes and names after rearranging the list. A row's position does not by itself determine the currency of an amount; select the appropriate row when entering a new price.

Limits and troubleshooting

Removing a currency from the list is organization, not a currency sale or deletion of a bank account. Before going offline, make sure the remaining currencies have loaded rate data and verify the last update.
