Should you delete contacts that have no phone number?

A contact without a phone number may still contain a useful email address, postal address or other reference. Cleanup Pro can surface these records, but missing one field does not make a contact unnecessary.

Before you begin

Decide what you use the address book for. Business contacts, email-only correspondents and organizations may be intentionally stored without a telephone number.

Step by step

  1. Open the relevant contact-cleanup category in Cleanup Pro.
  2. Inspect each record's email, address and other available details.
  3. Update useful records when you have verified information.
  4. Delete only entries you recognize as unnecessary or accidental.

Check the result

Check that no wanted contact disappeared from the Contacts app after cleanup. Consider reviewing a small group first to understand how changes affect the account holding the records.

Limits and troubleshooting

Do not fill missing numbers with guesses or merge unrelated people just to make the list look complete. A smaller address book is helpful only when it still contains the information you actually use.
