How to review duplicate photos before deleting them
Cleanup Pro groups suspected duplicate photos so you can review them before deleting extras. Keep the version you actually want rather than deleting an entire group without inspection.

Before you begin
Back up important photos through your normal process and check whether iCloud Photos is enabled. Deleting synced photos can affect your other devices too, so a second synced device is not an independent backup.
Step by step
- Open Cleanup Pro and allow the photo access needed for the scan.
- Run the duplicate-photo scan and wait for results.
- Open each group and compare quality, framing and any edits.
- Select only unwanted copies and review the system deletion confirmation.
Check the result
Check that a desired version remains after cleanup. Grouping is a review aid, and two images that appear identical at thumbnail size can differ in resolution or small details.
Limits and troubleshooting
Deleted photos normally enter Photos' Recently Deleted collection for a recovery period. Do not rush to permanently remove them until you are sure of the selection. Storage savings vary with the files and your iCloud settings.
