How Scanner's optional iCloud sync works
Scanner 1.0 is awaiting App Store review. This guide previews the submitted version; a public download is not available yet.
Scanner can sync documents, page images, recognized text and folders through your personal iCloud account. This optional feature requires iOS 17 or later and an eligible subscription.

Before you begin
Use the same Apple Account on the iPhones you want to sync. Check that iCloud is available and that there is enough storage before enabling the feature. Existing local scanning and OCR can work without sync.
Step by step
- Open Scanner Settings and find Sync with iCloud.
- Enable sync while signed in to your iCloud account.
- Leave the device connected and check the sync status.
- Open Scanner on the other supported device and verify a small sample document first.
Check the result
Check page counts and folder placement on both devices before relying on the second copy. The documents use your personal iCloud account, not a SpaceNode document-storage account.
Limits and troubleshooting
Turning sync off keeps local documents, while copies already in iCloud remain in that account. Sync is not a separate versioned backup. Export important documents before deleting the app or making large changes to the library.
