How to add a watermark to a PDF on iPhone
A watermark can label a PDF as a draft, sample or internal copy. PDF Reader Pro can add a visible mark, but it does not prevent a recipient from copying or photographing the content.

Before you begin
Choose wording that explains the document's status clearly. Keep the original when you may need a clean copy later, and consider whether the recipient requires a version without additional marks.
Step by step
- Open the watermark tool in PDF Reader Pro.
- Select the PDF and enter the watermark text.
- Review the available appearance options and create the result.
- Open several pages and check that the mark does not cover important information.
Check the result
Inspect dense pages, tables and signature fields. A watermark that works on a mostly blank cover can obscure content on a page with little empty space.
Limits and troubleshooting
Treat a watermark as a visible label rather than access control or proof of ownership. It does not securely redact text underneath, and sensitive material still needs an appropriate sharing and protection process.
