How to save an animated GIF to Photos on iPhone
GIFFF can save GIFs to Photos so you can use them later outside the app. Save the original animation rather than taking a screenshot of its preview.

Before you begin
Open the GIF and let it finish loading. A screenshot captures one frame, while saving the GIF preserves its animation when the destination supports that file format.
Step by step
- Find and open the GIF in GIFFF.
- Choose the save action and respond to the Photos permission request.
- Wait for the save to finish, then open Photos.
- Open the saved item and check that it animates before sharing it elsewhere.
Check the result
Use a recognizable test GIF so you can find it among recent items. If you have several copies, verify the correct saved item instead of assuming the newest thumbnail is the file you just wanted.
Limits and troubleshooting
If saving fails, check available storage, connectivity and the app's Photos permission. A third-party app may display a still thumbnail for a valid GIF, so test playback in Photos before concluding that the saved file lost its animation.
