About the Remove Line Breaks
When you copy text from a PDF, an e-book or an email, every visual line often ends with a hard line break, so sentences are chopped into pieces. This tool turns those unwanted line breaks into spaces and keeps paragraphs separated by blank lines, giving you clean text you can paste anywhere.
It can also collapse multiple spaces and tabs, trim spaces at the start and end of lines, rejoin words hyphenated at the end of a line and remove all spaces.
How to use
- Paste the text you want to clean into the box.

Why text copied from a PDF breaks into lines
A PDF stores text by position on the page, not by sentence. When you copy it, a line break is inserted at the end of every line, and the extra spaces used for justified text may come along too. English PDFs also split words at the end of a line with a hyphen, so the tool rejoins a word only when the hyphen is followed by a lowercase letter (infor-mation โ information) and leaves real compounds such as Spanish-American intact.

How are paragraphs detected?
A blank line (two or more line breaks in a row) marks a paragraph boundary. If the original has no blank lines, everything is merged into one paragraph.
Why wasn't a hyphenated word joined?
Words are rejoined only when the hyphen is at the very end of a line and the next line starts with a lowercase letter. A hyphen followed by a capital letter, such as Korea-Japan, is treated as a real hyphen and kept.
