How to split a PDF by page range on iPhone
PDF Reader Pro can create a smaller PDF from a selected page range. This is useful when you need to send one section without sharing the rest of a document.
App used in this guide: PDF Reader Pro ↗
Before you begin
Write down the actual PDF page positions. Printed page numbers inside the document can differ from the reader's page count when there are covers, contents pages or appendices.
Step by step
- Open the split tool in PDF Reader Pro.
- Choose the source PDF and specify the required page range.
- Create the output and give it a descriptive name.
- Open the extracted file and inspect its first and last pages.
Check the result
Confirm that the result contains all required pages and none of the surrounding private material. Compare any referenced appendix or attachment with the section you plan to send.
Limits and troubleshooting
An off-by-one page selection can produce a plausible but incomplete file. Check the visual content rather than trusting the range alone, and keep the original PDF so you can create another range if the recipient needs it.
