iPhone says printed but nothing came out: check the print job

Sending a job is different from a printer producing paper. A sleeping printer, paper mismatch or an existing queue can delay a document after the phone submits it.

Before you begin

Do not repeatedly press Print. Look at the printer screen for a paper, ink, offline or tray error and confirm you selected the intended device.

Step by step

  1. While a job is active, open the iPhone app switcher and look for Print Center.
  2. Review the job if shown and cancel an unwanted duplicate when possible.
  3. Resolve the printer's error, then send one small test page if needed.

Check the result

If the job has already left Print Center, check the printer's own queue or status tools. The phone may no longer be able to cancel a submitted job.

If it does not work

For output with missing content, compare the document preview first. For a correct preview with no paper output, troubleshoot the printer and connection rather than changing the PDF repeatedly.
