Why iPhone storage may not drop immediately after cleanup
Deleting photos does not always produce an immediate matching reduction in iPhone Storage. Recently Deleted, iCloud optimization and delayed storage calculations can all affect the figures you see.

Before you begin
Compare the same storage measure before and after cleanup. An app's estimated selected-file size, local device storage and iCloud storage are different values and should not be treated as interchangeable.
Step by step
- Review what was actually deleted in Cleanup Pro and Photos.
- Open iPhone Settings, General and iPhone Storage to inspect device usage.
- Check Recently Deleted for the items that are still recoverable.
- Allow time for the storage figures to update before comparing again.
Check the result
If you use optimized iCloud storage, the device may have held smaller local versions rather than every original file. Removing a large cloud original therefore may not free that full amount locally.
Limits and troubleshooting
Permanent deletion ends normal recovery for those items. Only take that step after checking the files and any independent backup; do not empty Recently Deleted just because an estimated storage number has not changed yet.
