How to read and search a PDF in PDF Reader Pro
PDF Reader Pro provides page navigation, zoom and text search for PDFs. Search works best when the document contains a text layer rather than only photographed page images.
App used in this guide: PDF Reader Pro ↗
Before you begin
Save or import the PDF from a source you trust. Check that the download is complete, particularly when the file comes from a remote folder or a large email attachment.
Step by step
- Open or import the PDF into PDF Reader Pro.
- Choose a comfortable page-view mode and zoom level.
- Use page navigation to move to a section you need.
- Search for a distinctive word and check the surrounding page for context.
Check the result
Confirm the title and page count before working on the document. A similarly named older copy can look identical on the first page but contain different information later.
Limits and troubleshooting
If text search finds nothing, try selecting a word. A scanned image may have no searchable text even though you can read it visually. A damaged or incomplete file should be downloaded again before troubleshooting the reader.
