Print double-sided from an iPhone: check printer support

Automatic two-sided printing requires a compatible duplex printer and an option exposed in the iOS print sheet. Installing a printing app does not add a duplex mechanism.

Before you begin

Check the exact model's duplex support and whether the loaded paper type permits two-sided printing. Open a short test document with clearly numbered pages.

Step by step

  1. Open the document in Smart Printer and choose Print.
  2. Select the printer and look for a two-sided option.
  3. Enable it if available, inspect the preview and print a small test before sending a long document.

Check the result

Check the second side's orientation and page order. Binding and orientation controls vary, so use the settings actually offered by your printer.

If it does not work

If automatic duplex is unavailable, follow the printer manufacturer's manual refeed instructions. Test with one sheet first; the correct way to reload paper depends on the tray and printer.
