About the CPS Test

CPS (clicks per second) tells you how many times you can click in one second โ€” the number gamers compare in Minecraft PvP and other click-heavy games. This test starts timing on your first click and, when time is up, calculates CPS as clicks รท test duration. On a phone, just tap the area with your fingers.

How to use

  1. Choose a test duration (1, 5, 10 or 30 seconds). If it's your first time, start with 5 seconds.
  2. The test starts the moment you click the area. Keep clicking as fast as you can until time runs out.
  3. When time is up you see your CPS and rank. Clicks are ignored for 0.8 seconds so extra clicks don't count.
  4. Your best score is saved for each mode, so keep trying to beat it.

CPS ranks

CPSRank
Under 4Turtle
4โ€“6Normal
6โ€“8Fast
8โ€“10Very fast
10โ€“13Lightning fingers
13 or moreUsing a macro?

Most people score 4โ€“6 CPS on their first try, practised players 6โ€“8 CPS and gamers around 8โ€“10 CPS. Going above 10 CPS usually takes techniques like jitter or butterfly clicking.

Click techniques and typical speeds

  • Normal clicking: one index finger. Usually 5โ€“8 CPS.
  • Jitter clicking: tensing your arm so your finger vibrates on the button. Up to 10โ€“14 CPS, but hard on your wrist.
  • Butterfly clicking: alternating two fingers on one button. Some mice register double clicks, so 15+ CPS is possible.

Stop and rest if your wrist or fingers hurt. Several short tests are safer than long ones.

FAQ

How is CPS calculated?

Clicks during the test divided by the test length in seconds. 35 clicks in 5 seconds is 35 รท 5 = 7 CPS.

Which is more accurate, the 1-second or 10-second mode?

The 1-second mode measures a burst, so it tends to be higher and luck plays a big role. For comparing skill, 5 or 10 seconds is more stable. 30 seconds is closer to an endurance test.

Can I use two fingers on my phone?

Yes. Every touch on the area counts as one click, and alternating fingers usually gives a better score.

Where are my records stored?

Your best score for each mode is stored only in this browser and never sent to a server.
