iPhone TV remote app not connecting? Check these first
Most connection checks fall into three stages: can the app discover the TV, can the TV approve pairing, and do the requested controls work? Identify which stage fails before reinstalling an app or buying a subscription.

1. The TV is missing from the device list
Check that the TV is on and connected to your network. On your iPhone, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network and allow the remote app. Then reopen its device list and scan again.
Guest Wi-Fi often prevents devices from communicating. Use a trusted home network where local device communication is allowed. A TV on Ethernet may still be reachable from a phone on Wi-Fi when both are on the same local network.
If you use a VPN, check whether it permits local network access. Do not change a workplace or hotel network’s security settings; ask its administrator if device communication is supported.
2. The TV appears, but pairing fails
Look at the TV screen while connecting. Samsung may require approval; LG webOS and other platforms may show a PIN or pairing request. Use the current request and follow the app’s instructions.
Keep the original remote available to approve access. If the request expires, reconnect and try again. Turning the TV off during pairing can interrupt the process.
3. Pairing succeeds, but a button fails
Start with the directional pad and OK. Then test one feature at a time. Volume may be handled by an external receiver, text entry may depend on the focused field, and shortcuts may require the corresponding TV app to be installed.
SpaceNode TV Remote supports several TV platforms, but supported commands vary. Premium unlocks app features; it does not add missing capabilities to the television.
4. The remote worked until the TV went to sleep
Wake the TV using its physical controls. If the app reconnects once it is on, investigate network standby or wake settings for that exact model. A TV disconnected from power cannot respond to a Wi-Fi remote.
For a support request, include the TV model, software version, iPhone iOS version and the failed stage: discovery, pairing or control. Never include your Wi-Fi password or a live pairing code.
