About the Instagram QR Code Generator
An Instagram QR code lets customers and fans land on your profile without searching for your handle, typos included. The URL field is already filled with https://www.instagram.com/, so you only need to add your username.
Codes made here are static QR codes: the link is stored in the image itself, so there is no expiry date, no scan limit and no account. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
How to use
- Open your profile in the Instagram app and note the username at the top, e.g.
cafe_spacenode. - Add it after
https://www.instagram.com/in the Website URL field, e.g.https://www.instagram.com/cafe_spacenode/. - To link a specific post or reel instead, tap its share icon, choose Copy link and paste the whole URL into the field.
- Open Design to pick your brand colors and add your logo in the center. Error correction is raised to High automatically when a logo is added.
- Click Download PNG or Download SVG, then scan the code once with your phone before you print.
Instagram’s built-in QR code vs. this generator
Instagram has its own QR code: tap Share profile on your profile. That’s fine for showing your phone screen to someone, but it’s limited when you need artwork for print.
| Instagram app | This tool | |
|---|---|---|
| Design | Preset styles (colors, emoji backgrounds) | Any code and background color, your own logo |
| File | Screenshot-style image | PNG up to 2048 px, or SVG that stays sharp at any size |
| Links to | Mainly your profile | Any profile, post, reel or highlight URL |
| Other accounts | You must be logged in to that account | Works for any public username |
The code contains a normal Instagram URL, so phones with the app open it in Instagram and others open it in the browser.
Tips for stores, events and posters
- Give people a reason to scan. “Follow us for 10% off today” beats a bare code every time.
- For a counter or table, about 3 cm (1.2 in) is enough. For a wall poster, make the code at least one tenth of the scanning distance: 10 cm (4 in) at 1 m.
- Copied post links often end in tracking text like
?igsh=…. You can delete everything from the question mark; the link still works and the code gets less dense. - If you change your username, old codes stop working, so settle on your handle before printing in bulk.
- Private accounts show posts only after you approve the follow request.
FAQ
Does the Instagram QR code expire?
No. It’s a static QR code with the URL inside the image, so it keeps working even if this site disappears. It only breaks if you change your Instagram username.
Where do I find my Instagram username?
Tap your profile picture at the bottom right of the app. The username is shown at the top of the screen. Use the handle (letters, numbers, dots and underscores), not your display name.
Will it open the Instagram app?
On most phones with Instagram installed, yes. Without the app, the profile opens in the browser. Some QR reader apps open links in their own in-app browser first.
Can I link to a single post or reel?
Yes. Use Copy link from the post’s share menu and paste it into the URL field. Links look like instagram.com/p/… or instagram.com/reel/….
Can I see how many people scanned it?
Static codes don’t track scans. Check Instagram Insights for profile visits and follower growth, or add a UTM-tagged link in your bio if you want more detail.
